Through this process, the ginseng gains a light reddish brown color and remains stiff after drying completely.
The quality of red ginseng is mainly determined by the manufacturing method in which the key to manufacturing technology is to steam the active ingredients of good ginseng without any loss.
Why 9 times steamed & 9 times dried?
Jinsamga possesses excellent technology that fundamentally blocks the loss of active ingredients such as ginsenoside

The main ingredient of Red Ginseng, Saponin comes from the Latin word Sapo (soap).
Just like how soap cleans all the impurities away with the foam, the saponin in red ginseng also serves the role of cleansing the impurities in our body.
The saponin in red ginseng is very potent without any toxicity, which is why it is especially called Ginsenoside.
Red Goryeo Ginseng is known to contain 32 different ginsenosides and the types include Rg1, Rb1, Re, and Rh.
Depending on the extraction temperatures, the ingredients of the ginsenoside would vary greatly in terms of quantity and types. It is also widely understood that there are different effects according to the different types.
- Sharp decrease of ginsenosides other than Rg3 at high temperature (90 degrees Celsius)
- Highest content in 75 ~ 85 degrees Celsius and the content starts to drop when the extraction time prolongs at temperature higher than 90 degrees Celsius
- The total content of Rg1 + Rb1 + Rg3 is the most crucial
The distribution of ginsenosides is found across the brain root (top part), main root, rootlet, and thin root (fine root).
Among them, the thin root (fine root) contains the most ginsenosides.
All products of Jinsamga do not contain any food additives.
The representative additives used in red ginseng are flavoring agents and color sugars as well as cyclodextrin, xanthan gum, and high-fructose corn syrup.

In the 37th year of King Jungjong of the Joseon Dynasty, Ju Se-bung was appointed as the governor of Punggi and was trying to solve the suffering of the people due to the tribute of wild ginseng. He then found out that the natural environment of the Punggi area at the foot of Sobaeksan Mountain is the most suitable place to grow wild ginseng.
Accordingly, wild ginseng seeds from the Geumgye-dong area were collected and cultivated, which became the beginning of ginseng cultivation in Korea. ‘Ginseng Temple’ Punggi ginseng grown in a good natural environment is of excellent quality, and there is a record that only Punggi ginseng was exclusively used in the court.
All Jinsamga products use 6 years old ginseng grown in Punggi.
